Chapter 5

My initial idea for my experimental video was to take lots of still photos of a skater walking to the skate park and take more still images of him skating, then do the same thing again for him walking home, but this will take to long to do, so i am going to do the still images of him walking to and back from the skate park, but I'm going to video him skating and put it in slow motion and change all the colours around.
I'm going to have the camera angle tilted to one side so its like in a diamond and maybe have a fish eye lens on the camera to give it more of an effect.
I am going to have a soundtrack over the top which will probably be D&B/dubstep or something that goes well with skating and flows well.
Skate park should be empty will have more of an effect, then fades into a busy skate park!
Ive been inspired to do a video like this by all the skating videos Ive watched and the Muto, animated wall art video where I'm taking the lots of still images put together to make a small film.

Chapter 4

The first instillation artists work we looked at was called "Annlee You Proposes" by an artist called Liam Gillick, the artwork is on Level 5, and the theme is No Ghost Just A Shell, basses in the No Ghost Just A Shell room.
The whole room is based on Anlee You Proposes and inside are a variety of metal squares, all different colours and in different orders and arranged as seats and built up as though a wall or a chest of draws, the room is bright with lamps in all the corners, and 3 TV screens all of witch showing an animated video of a girl talking about something which is quite UN-nerving mixed with the coldness in the rooms presents a spooky and creepy feeling when your in this room. we couldn't quite work out the meaning for this but i think that it shows that most creepy/UN-natural things are usually kept in the dark and it makes it just as scary but this shows that it can be bright and lots of colours around, but it still makes it just as weird, so i think the room goes well with the video and it adds a creepy effect.

The second piece of work we looked at was called "Blood And Feathers" by Ana Mendieta on level 5 in the Ana Mendieta room with the theme of energy and process, and is a silent video projected onto the wall of a naked woman who covers herself in blood and the falls onto the floor and rolls around in feathers. The chairs to sit on are really comfy and its nice and warm in there which makes you feel more relaxed and its also quite dark in there so it gives people a feeling that they should be quite when watching it so its really quite in the room.
The meaning that we got from Blood and Feathers was that after she has rolled in the feathers, she emerges as a symbolised swan, to now show beauty and freedom.

Koyaanisqutsi

Koyaanisqatsi's 1982 life out of balance has a wide range of imagery and built up of lots of different scenes and camera shots.
The types of visual images and videos used in the film have a wide range from destruction to construction of new and old times, which i think show the evolution of the world, and how humans evolving has a bad effect on the world.
The range of locations change from Big, Busy, Crowded city's like New York, to natural shots like water falls, fields full of crops, and this shows you how the world is all different and all the things that go on in our world and the destruction that humans have caused.
The Music has a huge effect on the images you see on the screen, it starts of creepy with images of cave paintings and an explosion, and slowly breaks into something more happy when it is showing natural scenes like the waterfall, but when there are images of destruction the music completely changes and becomes all dark, evil and it really suits the mood and makes you see the film in a different way.

The Film has no dialogue and the music throughout the whole film is Non - Diagetic which means the music is from outside the frame.
The concept of this video has quite allot of different meanings, it shows how the world is being built up so fast that the natural parts of the world are getting destroyed without having a chance to try and exist. The music in the film also is part of contrast because without the music you would not get the same effect and it would just be lots of random video clips without any noises.

Andy Huang - Doll Face

In this experimental video of Andy Huang's Doll Face it shows what some people put themselves through and the extreme lengths they go through just to look glamorous, or look like people on T.V who could be peoples roll models.
It is an unreachable goal because people get to a certain stage and cant go any further(plastic surgery).
Doll Face sounds like the person is plastic or a china doll.

People go so far and ruin themselves and can not go back so they look Broken ( like the woman's face).
Lots of other images flash on the screen while the TV moves around, this shows all the chaos that goes on on TV and how it can ruin people.
